Hawker College primarily draws students who live in in our Priority Enrolment Area (PEA), which includes the suburbs of Hawker, Higgins, Holt, Page, Scullin & Weetangera. This does not preclude any student wishing to enrol from any other ACT High School.
Students not in our PEA have been successful in applying to our college from all high schools throughout the Canberra region. If you are in this position it is important to give a rationale for the request ensuring that your claims address the criteria for placement with us. These are outlined in the placement procedures and are as follows:
- you are a student at either Belconnen High School or Kingsford Smith School
- a sibling will be attending the same college in the same calendar year in either year 11 or 12;
- disadvantage which may result from the student being unable to access their chosen curriculum pattern;
- well-being considerations claims supported by submitting evidence from a counsellor or medical specialist.
There are new policies for NSW students seeking enrolment at ACT schools. Please visit www.education.act.gov.au for further information.
The college has established a very strong reputation and program to support our International Private Students. Email email@example.com or call the college on 02 6142 0355 for more information.
