The Hawker College P&C invites participation by members of our college community.

Your 2016 P&C Committee members: Carolyn Fisher, Heather Grainger, Jocelyn Bruemmer, Ashok Krishnan and Chris Jeffrey would like to welcome back Year 12 parents and welcome aboard Year 11 parents to Hawker College..

By participating and attending the Hawker College P&C meetings and events, you can help make a difference to how your college student is educated and supported, helping them to handle the changes they will go through and enjoy their time at college.

The priority of your P&C for the past two years has been to provide an avenue to support communication between parents and Hawker College, also forging links with the local school network and the local community. We held popular parent and student forums:

  • AST Yr 12;
  • Demystifying College Terminology;
  • Costs & Funding for Post Secondary School Study;
  • AST Yr 11.

and a social event (dinner in the Hawker College’s Donovan’s Restaurant catered by Yr 11 & 12 Hospitality students), which we hope to continue in 2017. Fundraising is kept to essential minimal levels to cover ACT P&C Council requirements to exist.

As many hands make light work, please consider attending the next P&C meeting and get involved in your student’s education both at home and in the college.
