Registered Units, Sport & Extra Curricula

At Hawker College we aim to give students a balance in their study package. We encourage them to explore their personal interests and expand their knowledge and skills in many different areas.

Some of the R-Units typically run at Hawker College are shown below. Whether a specific R-Unit runs is dependent upon the availablity of appropriate staff and resources.

Registered Units (R)

SPORT AND RECREATION including interschool sports such as Indoor Soccer, Netball, Beach
Volleyball, Rugby League and AFL. Other sports and recreation units include: Badminton, Golf Sports Coaching and Weight Training.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT including Legal Workshop, Future Directions, Student Leadership, Youth leadership, AST Preparation, writing extension for bilingual students and public speaking. VISUAL ARTS including Life Drawing and Photography.

PERFORMING ARTS including Dance Performance, Stage Production, Theatre Lighting, Rock Eisteddfod and Jazz Band Ensemble.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES including Debating, Young Achievers, Science and Maths Tutorials and CREST.
