Outdoor Recreation (A/M)
This course will be relevant to students who have an interest in outdoor activities and the natural environment, or who may be considering future careers in the outdoor recreation industry. The course is designed to provide a balance between practical activities and theoretical content. Students can participate in in a variety of outdoor experiences including rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing/ snowboarding, bushwalking, canoeing, surfing, kayaking, and other land and water-based activities.
Content includes theory about outdoor activities, specific skills (e.g. leadership and planning) as well as knowledge of the natural environment, personal and interpersonal motivations, and information about outdoor industry classifications and opportunities.
