Dance and Specialised Dance (A/T/M)

Dance offers an immersive journey for dancers of all levels, from those with a foundation in hip hop, ballet, jazz, or contemporary to complete beginners looking to discover their potential. You will refine your technique through training workshops and performance opportunities at the ACT Public Schools Dance Competition and Canberra Dance Festival. There is also a powerful focus on creating choreography. You will step into the role of the creator, learning to transform original ideas into evocative performances that communicate deep meaning to an audience. By exploring the creative process, engaging with professional dance productions such as Bangarra and the Australian Dance Party on excursions, and participating in collaborative projects such as Dance Films, you will develop the skills to innovate and lead.

Your learning is further enriched through exciting opportunities to engage with the wider dance community, including specialised workshops with Ausdance ACT, that provide professional insights and industry connections.
