Leaving our school
You may choose to unenroll your young person from our school for a number of reasons, including to:
- enrol at a different public school, Catholic school or Independent school in the ACT
- register for home education
- move to other education destinations or a school outside of the ACT.
If you plan to leave our school, please follow these steps:
- Advise us in writing. Please let us know:
- student name
- student year level and year coordinator
- student’s last day at our school
- which school or education destination the student will be enrolled at.
- Return any school or ACT Education Directorate property, including Chromebooks, library books, instruments you hire, etc.
Students who have successfully met the requirements for their ACT Senior Secondary Certificate can request to leave before the end of the school year and are required to meet with the Student Services team to initiate this process.
If your young person is under 17 and requires an exemption from full-time schooling you will need to complete an Exemption Certificate or Approval Statement available from the Education Directorate website.
Letting us know which school or education destination your child or young person will be enrolled at next will be is a legal requirement under the Education Act 2004.
