Live Production and Services immerses students into the behind the scenes of the theatre world. In this course students dive into the high-energy world of technical theatre and design to power live and blended performances, and graduate the course ready to enter the industry. With the benefit of our Murranji Theatre, students are provided hands-on experience with the latest industry technology, mastering the art of lighting design and desk operation while gaining vital experience in light rigging and patching. Their creative toolkit expands through sound design and live audio mixing, paired with the fast-paced demands of stage and event management. Students will learn about the industry and opportunities available, how to organise and manage an event, design for a production, and learn the technical aspects of lighting and sound to deliver high quality outcomes.

This course provides a direct launchpad into the global entertainment industry. Graduates can pursue diverse roles such as a Lighting or Sound Technician, Stage Manager, Live Sound Engineer, or AV Specialist for major festivals and corporate events. The transferable skills gained also open doors to careers in Event Operations, Production Management, and technical roles within theme parks, cruise ships, and touring theatre companies. By joining the course, students become an integral part of the annual College production, operating as the backstage crew and operators for the show, bringing technical specifications to life through a sharp focus on teamwork, proactive communication, and safety standards to ensure a professional-grade show.
